One of the places that Kamille and I went to when I visited her in NYC is the High Line, also known as aerial greenway. It’s one of the most popular destinations in New York City. It’s located in the lower side of Manhattan, and it runs 1.45 miles from Gansevoort St., through Chelsea, to 34th street near Javits Convention Center. I got the idea to go here ’cause my sister told me about it when I mentioned to her that I’ll be going to NYC. It’s pretty cool that this used to be a working railroad and since they stopped using it, they turned it into a park! Isn’t it nice when people do these things? It wasn’t much of a “greenway” when I went though because it was in February and it’s winter season, but it was amazing nonetheless. I liked that I can see some parts of the town as I walked through the park. I can even see the ocean from up there! The greens must be back this spring season. I wonder how different the place looks. Gotta go back here during spring/summer season!
Onto the look. When I was looking for jackets prior to leaving, I came across this cardigan. It’s a thick knit cable cardigan with a shearling collar. Last winter season, shearling collars were really popular so I decided to get this one. What I liked about it is that it has buttons so that I can button it all the way up or I can just button a certain section to create different looks. As you guys can see in the pictures, I have it buttoned all the way up at the top to create the “turtle neck” type of style, in the middle, or just leave it open! It’s a very versatile cardigan that I can use for different outfits. Another bonus that I got when I received this cardigan was that the sleeves were lined from the inside–which means that if I’m wearing a knitted sweater or something similar to that material, it would easily slide in! Have you ever experienced wearing knit over knit? It’s a hassle to slide the sleeve all the way cause they rub off each other. The struggle is real. As for my sweater, I went with this stripped black and white sweater to break my plain navy blue cardigan. It creates an effect that attracts the eyes. I also wore a black shirt under the sweater to add warmth to my outfit. For my jeans, I wore this black denim to keep it simple, and I finished the look with my all-black chukka boots.
